• October 2015 Note SDR# is updated and will only run on Windows Vista, 7, and later.
• Full installation instructions  At the top of this page . AND RTL dongle, HDSDR and SDR-Radio installations, Linux, OSX, fault finding.....
• Summary:-
• Unzip (extract) into a folder, make a shortcut to SDRSharp.exe. To extract:- Double click the downloaded zip and copy the files into a folder. Don't install in \Program Files\

• To add the files for a RTL dongle run (double click) install-rtlsdr.bat found with the SDR# program files you downloaded.
• Drivers for the RTL http://zadig.akeo.ie/ follow the link on that page for driver installation instructions. Michael, AF7U reports Widows Defender had to be disabled to get Zadig to work. This can apply to any anti-virus/security program.
• If it does not work first test the driver installation.    Driver and other solutions noted on that page.

Reference Plug-ins from Ian Gilmour

 

Please find a attached a couple of "reference" plug-ins I wrote to test the actual interfaces.  They have sat in my branch mostly unnoticed for a long time :-)  The two plug-ins are:

• Simple audio equaliser - download
• Audio FFT - download

 

Place the EQ before the FFT in the config file if you wish to see the effect of the EQ.  The source is in my branch as always.  Bear in mind these are reference plug-ins and I'm not actively developing them.  [These plug-ins will be of particular value to those developing plug-ins themselves.]

• ADSB# – A simple and cheap ADS-B receiver using RTL-SDR - Web page
• Dump1090 - here is the C code. Plane Plotter MLAT (multilateration) now requires this application to feed data for locating aircraft which do not broadcast their position.
• RTL1090 - A free ADS-B receiver using RTL-SDR.
• TVsharp watch TV with your dongle using the RTL mode, rather than the supplied TV software.  Produces lower resolution, monochrome picture.  Perhaps scope for DX-TV?
